The Entrepreneurial Monitoring System of Corporate Reputation, which collected the opinion of entrepreneurs, clients, trade unions and financial analysts, distinguished BancoEstado in the framework of the 50 most prestigious companies and at the first place in stakeholders’ category, as the institution with best ethic and CSR perception.
BancoEstado obtained a successful distinction in the first report of the Spanish MERCO monitoring system on entrepreneurial reputation in Chile, which awarded the 50 enterprises and mangers most noteworthy by industry and consumers in Chile.

Due to its approach, this study became a quite influential index in Europe. It measured the perception of 545 directors of the largest companies in Chile, together with perceptions of clients, financial analysis, NGOs, consumers associations, trade unions, and opinion leaders.
Results ranked BancoEstado in the eleventh place of the general ranking, as one of the companies with higher reputation in Chile, together with Lan Chile, Copec, and Coca-Cola, amongst others.

Together with the previous award, the analysis ranked BancoEstado at the first place in stakeholders’ category, where voters assessed it as the institution with higher ethic perception and CSR. Thus, Cintya Lucero, general manager of Villafañe Asociados, mentioned that in the case of the Bank, the survey respondents, especially NGOs, acknowledged its commitment with the community through the social and environmental responsibility showed in their performance.
In the ranking by productive sector, the bank reached a prominent position as one of the three financial institutions with best reputation in the market, together with megabanks of domestic industry.
What is Merco?
The Monitoring Service for Entrepreneurial Corporate Reputation is an evaluation system in reputation similar to the one issued by Fortune in the USA, which evaluates Spain’s reputation since 2000, becoming one of the world’s reference monitoring systems.
The Merco Enterprises and Leaders’ study, which is performed by the international consulting firm Villafañe & Asociados, is applied for the first time in our country, after recording important processes in Colombia, Argentina and other countries in the region.
