BancoEstado: 155 years supporting Chilean’s development

Confirming the commitment of continuing with the development of innovative products and services allowing more people to incorporate to the benefits of the financial system, BancoEstado celebrates tomorrow, September 1st, 155 years of existence in Chile and in every Chilean’s heart.

Within the framework of the Bicentenary, and proud of being present along Chile through different assistance systems, the institution has a significant place in the national financial system, where it shows a 15.67% market share in the system’s total placements, which ranks the bank in the third position in local industry.

Since its foundation in 1855, BancoEstado has played a significant role in the development of national economy, providing funding for enterprises from different productive sectors in Chile, as well as for the Chilean families, in order they can carry out their projects and to support national growth. The effective trade management of the bank throughout the years, has proven that a public company can compete in equal conditions with the private sector, being profitable, and performing an important social role when reaching specific segments of population that are not covered by other banking agents.

Currently, BancoEstado has 345 subsidiaries, with offices in each district of Chile, excepting the Antarctica. In 209 districts, many of which are amongst the lowest income or most isolated ones in urban areas, BancoEstado is the only banking entity present through offices or Caja Vecinas nationwide.

More than 380 thousand micro-entrepreneur clients, 3 million of active Cuenta-Rut accounts, and 3,500 Caja Vecinas confirm the social work targeted by BancoEstado as a public entity, designing products that are accessible to provide a massive access to financial services and products for most of Chilean people.
