As part of the activities carried out by the Chilean delegation during Chile Day 2010, held in July 16, the Minister of Finance, Felipe Larrain headed a visit to the BancoEstado’s office in New York, followed by the Chairman of BancoEstado, Segismundo Schulin-Zeuten, the Chief Executive Officer, Pablo Piñera; and the New York’s Office Manager, Karen Ergas.
During that Day, the Secretary of State saw the operations performed at this office, which has been for five years in this city, one of the most important financial centers in the world.

Chile Day, which has being celebrated for four consecutive years at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), brought together Chilean congressmen, directors and entrepreneurs from public and private sectors. The most relevant target is to promote investment in Chile, highlight the institutional strength and political and economical solvency of Chile.
The above mentioned event begun at 9:30 a.m., with the traditional “opening bell” that announces the day’s start. The superintendent of Securities and Insurances, Fernando Coloma, the Superintendent of Banks and Financial Institutions, Carlos Budnevich, and the Pension Funds one, Solange Bersten attended the activity, together with the Chairman of the Internal Revenues Service, Julio Pereira, amongst other executives. On behalf of BancoEstado, Segismundo Schulin-Zeuthen and Pablo Piñera attended the meeting and shared with their banking fellows and with more than 240 participants coming from insurance companies, Pension Funds Associations and law firms, amongst others.
Likewise, Chilean participants and foreign investors hold more than 170 bilateral meetings. The latter showed a strong interest in the domestic market, either to participate in it or through the issuance of shares o bonds from Chilean companies.

Besides the Minister’s visit, the day before the Superintendent of Banks and Financial Institutions, Carlos Budnevich, visited the office and acknowledged the services provided by BancoEstado in New York.
